So Ive had this idea for a while that I wanted to make a sketchbook devoted to what a sketchbook of a character Ive created might look like. As a creative project I want to try and imagine a world through their eyes, the things they might jot down, what the people in this world look like to them through their everyday lives. Im going to try and do this with no internet recourses. Im going to only use things Ive actually pulled from life and imagination. So if I need to know what a certain texture looks like, Ill find it somewhere around the house and study it in the real world. If I need ideas for a certain location, Ill drive around and out of the city and find inspiration from that.
I just find that I spend way too much time looking for things to draw on the internet instead of actually drawing. This way Im actually getting drawing done, and not relying on images that everyone else can see with one search. Im going to try it out for a month and see if it actually helps.
