Oil Painting

Just finished the first coat of my first oil painting, its surprisingly now that much of a leap from traditional to digital. Cant wait to post it! School has been really busy so I haven't been able to post much but Im glad when I do everyone still comments and gives feedback! Im going to go through all my watch notifications and see all the amazing work I know you guys have been posting while Ive been gone!

I just had to take the time out to say that I have the best watchers! I love that you guys actually like to interact, encourage and give feedback on art. Its so hard sometimes when you don't have that, and it can be discouraging to post something and only get 2 views on something you put work into.
You guys are amazing and I can't wait to grow as an artist with you! Thanks for all the support, Ill continue to do my best to give it all back!

New Watchers, New Tumblrs?

Hey! So Ive gotten a couple new watchers and I really appreciate it! And I love the watchers that actually like to talk and comment and fav because I try to make sure I see and comment on everyone who watches me new work. I purposely don't follow any huge artists for this reason. I dont want my inbox flooded so I can make sure I see everyones work!
Anyways, do any of you have tumblrs dedicated to your art? I dont mind personal tumblrs either but I prefer them to be mostly art so I can actually show support!

Debt Trap

Man, I am not looking forward to paying back this debt to school, but there is nothing Id rather with my life than learning art! I love it more than anything. That being said, if you are trying to learn how to draw, college is not necessary. Yes it will help you get better faster (in some cases) and its really good for those who arent motivated enough to learn on their own, but at the same time, I feel like if youre not motivated enough to learn on your own, even with college, youll never make a career out of it. There is not enough time in a day for me to learn all the things I need to about out, and natural talent will only take you so far.
My goal was to teach when I finished college, and it still is, but now knowing what I know, I want to find a way to teach people who want to learn without having them 100,000 dollars in debt within four years. Of course I dont have it figured out yet, but Im determined to. All I do all day while drawing is try and figure out ways to optimize my learning, and Im going to figure out a way to do that for others too. College is a debt trap, no education is worth 80,000 even if it guaranteed a job, which it doesnt.

Rewatching Sherlock while working on this Siren illustration. Its coming along really good but I cant find the right reference for the fucking rocks!!!!!! Aside from that, Im pretty happy with how this is turning on, am not looking forward to these scales though lol
